PARKS, RECREATION & CULTURE Virtual workshop
Community user groups are crucial in providing diverse programming and active living opportunities in the public recreation and parks sector. As space becomes more limited, costs rise, and volunteerism changes, collaboration with these groups is more important than ever.
The panel will explore key questions such as:
- How can we adjust allocation practices to support tenured and emerging groups while prioritizing equity, diversity, and inclusion?
- Should we rethink support for youth sports in response to the professionalization of programs?
- How can we, with a sense of responsibility, ensure that our programming remains affordable while also addressing the needs of space and sports tourism?
The session will also include time to engage with attendees to share experiences.
